A great variety of specimens is found in the colombian territory, both for fauna and flora. Colombia is considered around the world as one of the countries with the most diversity and endemism. At the present it is observed an affectation of the different tropical systems where many of these species live. In addition, there is a daily illegal trade of these animals. These are some of the reasons why their existence is becoming more and more difficult today. The amphibians of various countries of the world, including ours country, have one of the highest rates of affectation for many species of Dendrobates , making his major research important. Raising poison frogs in captivity has been well received all over the world today. Also, this has become a tool for preserving many species, including the endemic ones from Colombia, like the Dendrobates truncatus species. Looking for improvement in the productivity of these species in captivity, three treatments were established at feeding level, with a basically supply of the fruit fly named Drosophila Melanogaster. Drosophila Melanogaster was the only source of food used for the first treatment. In addition to the fruit flies, three weeks old Tenebrio molitor larvae were given as the main source of food for the second treatment and some species of termites were added to the fruit flies as the source of food for the third treatment. The number of eggs for each treatment was measured, considering not only the viable ones but also the no viable one. The intervals of laying for the three groups of animals that were given for each treatment were also measured. The study showed the groups which had been fe don Drosophila and the Tenebrio molitor larvae showed a great number of viable eggs as well as a great numbers of eggs and laying tan those obtained with the other two treatments. This gave a pattern for the use of the Tenebrio molitor larvae as the source of feeding supply for the production of species in captivity.
