El presente trabajo se realizó con el fin de analizar espacio-temporalmente los eventos de origen natural, considerados potencialmente catastróficos ocurridos en Colombia entre los años 2000 y 2011, mediante el tratamiento estadístico de los datos obtenidos de SIDHMA, además de las descripciones generales y detalladas de cada uno de los eventos a nivel nacional, departamental y regional, dando uso a la cartografía temática. The work shown was done with the purpose to analyze events of natural origin considered catastrophic during the interval of time of 2000 through 2011 that ocurred in Colombia, through the statistical data that was obtained throught SIDHMA, in addition to the general and detailed descriptions for each of these events that ocurred at a natural, departamental and regional level through the use of thematic cartography. This analysis also allows us to learn the frequency of these events and the way they are influenced by Earth’s dynamics. It also identifies the physical social, economical and enviromental impacts generated by them
