Resumen
La investigación documental realizada consistió en un abordaje al tema de la enseñanza de inglés en instituciones educativas rurales y el quehacer docente en el aula. Se buscó dar respuesta a preguntas sobre el desempeño del docente y las diferentes prácticas que se llevan a cabo en la enseñanza del inglés como segunda lengua. Se recogió información pertinente a través de encuesta y observación. Se analizaron los datos a través de aproximaciones cuantitativas y cualitativas, mediante gráficas, tablas y protocolos. Se concluyó que la realidad educativa en las zonas rurales debe ser abordada bajo postulados de optimización y cobertura de manera tal que los docentes tengan bases y herramientas que contribuyan a su práctica en el aula

The documentary research carried out consisted of an approach to the subject of teaching English in rural educational institutions and teaching in the classroom. We looked for answering questions about the teacher's performance and the different practices that are carried out in the teaching of English as a second language. Relevant information was collected through survey and observation. The data were analyzed through quantitative and qualitative approaches, using graphs, tables and protocols. It was concluded that the educational reality in rural areas should be addressed under the postulates of optimization and coverage in such a way that teachers have bases and tools that contribute to their practice in the classroom
