At the end of 2019, several people in the city of Wuhan, China, presented with severe pneumonia in some hospitals. The number of patients was increasing exponentially, the Chinese government made the determination on January 23, 2020, to close the city to contain the virus. Unfortunately, the virus had already spread throughout China and shortly after. The world health organization (WHO) officially declared a pandemic state on March 11, 2020, researchers manag ed to isolate and identify the virus that causes severe pneumonia and discovered that it was an Alpha Coronavirus (CoV) strain. Coronaviruses have been studied since 1960 when they began to isolate this type of virus found in the respiratory tract of adult s with symptoms of the common cold. These belong to the Coronaviridae family of the Nidovirales order, their name is due to the fact that they have a spherical shape from which spicules that look like a crown protrude. Rationale: SARSCoV differe nt types of variants, pathogenic and non-- 2 has had pathogenic, but there are 3 that have received the most attention and a 4 variant that is being studied recently: the strain from Brazil (P1) the one from Great Britain (B. 1.1.7) and South Africa (B.1.3.5.1), all 3 have different mutations and are apparently not related to each other. Objective: To carry out a qualitative systematic review where the genetic variants of SARSCoV2 in Latin America are identified.
