Abstract
The policies of the big cities towards a sustainable mobility provides the main role to non-motorized modes, among them the bicycle stands out for facilitating trips of lengths longer than the walk. In the bicycle mode there is a question: How advantageous is the use of the electric bicycle with respect to the conventional bicycle (without assisted traction)?. The present paper presents the results of tests in different routes that combined: a. Distances in ranges up to 6 km and up to 10 km, b. Longitudinal slopes by sectors that were progressive up to 5%, and others up to 7%, and c. Slots at peak periods and in the valley period.
