Oculars pathologies prevails in adults patients attempted in the optometrics researchs institute of the la Salle University in the year 2000
Resumen
La unidad de Optometría Funcional‐ Patología realizo 1.575 consultas de adultos de primera vez en el año 2000, correspondientes al 36% del total de las consultas del Instituto de Investigaciones Optométricas. Se determino el perfil epidemiológico de patologías oculares por edad y genero ajustados a CIE 10 (Clasificación Internacional de Enfermedades). Se encontró una población joven con un 54% de mujeres. Los diagnostico más frecuentes fueron en su orden: pinguecula, blefaritis seborreica, pterigio, catarata senil, conjuntivitis alérgica, melanosis conjuntival, nevus conjuntival, conjuntivitis bacteriana, meibomianitis y queratocono. La producción de alteraciones fue mayor en los anexos oculares y de tipo degenerativo. Se hacen relaciones de las patologías con los anexos o segmento ocular, tipo de lesión y tejido especifico, con el género y la edad alrededor de la mediana.

Abstract
The Functional – Pathology Optometry Unit conducted 1,575 tests to adults for the first time in the year 2000. This corresponds to 36% of the total number of test al the Institute of Optometry Research. The epidemiological profile of ocular pathologies were determined by age and gender adjusted to CIE 10 (International Diseases Classification). A young population was found, 54% being female. The most frequent diagnosis was found in the following order: pinguecula, blefaritis seborreica, pterigio, senile cataracts, allergic conjunctivitis, melanosis conjunctival, nevus conjunctival, bacterial conjunctivitis, meibomitis and queratocono. Alteration productions were higher in the ocular annexes and of degenerative types. Relations were made with pathologies with the annexes and ocular segments, type of injury and specific tissue, with the gender and the age in relation to the media.
