Resumen

Este proyecto de investigación se centra en la observación, descripción y análisis de las situaciones que viven los hispanos católicos migrantes que llegan a los Estados Unidos y es el Instituto Pasionista de Espiritualidad, que hace parte de la Arquidiócesis Galveston-Houston, el lugar donde se acercan para ser escuchados y recibir acompañamiento pastoral, espiritual y de vida de fe. Este informe en un primer momento expone las referencias teóricas a partir de las cuales se aborda la información obtenida de tres grupos focales trabajados. De seguido se presentan los resultados obtenidos del proceso de análisis y codificación de los campos categoriales, que permiten dar respuesta al objetivo principal con los hallazgos de la investigación. Finalmente se elaboran algunas líneas de formación pastoral para acompañantes espirituales, que ayudarán a llenar la necesidad encontrada.

Se ha escogido como paradigma de investigación el teórico crítico, debido a su visión dialéctica de la realidad, la cual es propia de la multiculturalidad de la gente hispana inmigrante. En ese mismo contexto es el método cualitativo de esta investigación, el que proporciona la confianza y la oportunidad a los investigadores de ver el escenario y las personas en una perspectiva de totalidad.

Los investigadores se aproximarán a sujetos reales, que están viviendo o han vivido esta experiencia de adaptación a un nuevo contexto de vida. La información que se obtenga con la técnica de grupo focal ayudará a identificar las necesidades que los migrantes hispanos católicos experimentan en su proceso de adaptación, ofreciendo la oportunidad de clarificar y obtener una imagen realista y fiel del grupo de estudio.

This research project focuses on the observation, description and analysis of the situations experienced by Hispanic Catholic migrants who arrive in the United States and is the Passionist Institute of Spirituality, which is part of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese, the place where they come closer to be heard and to receive pastoral, spiritual and life of faith accompaniment. This research at first presents the theoretical references from which the information obtained from three focus groups worked is addressed. The results obtained from the process of analysis and coding of the categorical fields are then presented, which allow us to respond to the main objective with the research findings. Finally, some lines of pastoral formation for spiritual companions are elaborated, which will help to fill the need found. The critical theorist has been chosen as the research paradigm, due to its dialectical vision of reality, which is typical of the multiculturalism of Hispanic immigrant people. In this same context, it is the qualitative method of this research, which provides the confidence and the opportunity to researchers to see the setting and the people in a perspective of totality. Researchers will approach real subjects, who are living or have lived this experience of adaptation to a new context of life. The information obtained with the focus group technique will help identify the needs that Hispanic Catholic migrants experience in their adaptation process, offering the opportunity to clarify and obtain a realistic and faithful image of the study group.
