Resumen
Colombia por su ubicación geográfica, por acción de agentes antrópicos y la depredación causada por sus habitantes, lo convierte en un país propenso a la aparición de cualquier tipo de desastre. El campo de acción del Zootecnista en estas situaciones es el manejo de los animales antes, durante y después de un desastre, puesto que al producirse un desastre natural se ve comprometida la salud, la producción y el bienestar animal. Teniendo en cuenta la importancia que tienen los animales en situaciones post-desastre se deben tomar medidas de atención y aseguramiento animal lo mas pronto posible, ya que estos al no contar con unas medidas o planes de manejo y contingencia adecuados, pueden desencadenar situaciones aún mas peligrosas que el desastre mismo. Un desastre natural altera las condiciones normales de vida en la zona afectada, generando un descontrol colectivo volviendo a su normalidad a medida que la ayuda y cooperación de los grupos de rescate se presentan; dentro de esta ayuda se encuentra el apoyo del zootecnista, cuya labor es minimizar el impacto de los animales en la salud pública, proporcionar proteína animal de óptima calidad higiénica y nutricional, reubicación de animales a otras zonas, apoyar las labores de búsqueda y rescate animal, elaboración de corrales o sitios de albergue y manejo animal, efectuar el control de roedores y fauna nociva como mosquitos. Así mismo el zootecnista está capacitado para activar los programas de desinfección de los lugares contaminados y el control sobre la posible presencia de agentes patógenos, esto entre otras labores.

Colombia for it’s geographical location, for action of antrópics agents and the pillaging caused for its inhabitants, transforms it into a prone country to the appearance of any disaster type, the field of action of the animal science in these situations is the handling of the animals before, during and after a disaster, since when taking place a natural disaster it is committed the health, the production and the well-being animal; keeping in mind the importance that have the animals- in situations post-disaster attention measures and animal insurance should be taken it is soon is possible, since these when not having some measures or handling plans and adapted contingency, can unchain situations more dangerous that the same disaster. A natural disaster alters the normal conditions of life in the affected area generating a collective discontrol, returns to its normality as the help and cooperation of the rescue groups is presented, inside this help is the support of the animal science, whose work is minimize the impact of the animals in the publishes health, provide animal protein of good hygienic and nutritional quality, relocation of animals in other areas, support the search works and animal rescue, elaboration of corrals and places of housing animal, make the control of rodents and noxious fauna as gnats. This same, the animal science this qualify for activate the programs of disinfections of the polluted places and the control on the possible presence of agents pathogens, this among other works.
